On June 20, 1865, the 9th Michigan Cavalry Regiment was noted as being in Concord, Cabarrus County (Turner 3-4). Depending on the route taken, the distance between Concord and the regiment’s last noted movement in Chapel Hill is 103+ miles (Google Maps). 

 

The regiment spent the end of their time in North Carolina in Concord, finishing their service before mustering out (Turner 3-4).
